Senior Digital Communications Specialist

Location (City, State): Healthcare, Science, or Biology background required

Pay: $29-31/hr temp to hire

Job Description:

The Senior Digital Communications Specialist leads the strategy and execution of digital and social media initiatives to enhance institutional visibility and engagement.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced social media professional who enjoys collaborating across departments and being embedded in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media and digital content strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Manage primary social media accounts including Facebook, Linked In, Instagram, and You Tube
  • Create, adapt, and publish original content to promote events, programs, and initiatives
  • Analyze engagement metrics and performance data; prepare regular reports and dashboards
  • Support online reputation management and crisis communication planning
  • Partner with marketing, communications, enrollment, and academic teams to develop engaging multimedia content
  • Support governance standards, content quality assurance, and digital communications guidelines
  • Assist with training sessions and workshops for social media engagement
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Liberal Arts, Marketing or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in social media marketing or digital communications
  • Proven ability to develop and execute social media strategies driving awareness and engagement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong writing and story telling skills
  • High-visibility role with leadership actively engaged on social media
