AboutThe Role
The Maintenance Technician Trainee is responsible for supporting the maintenance and upkeep of the property to ensure efficient operations and client/tenant satisfaction. This is a growth-oriented role designed to develop technical skills through hands-on experience, job shadowing, formal training, and practical application alongside the onsite engineering team.
Responsibilities- Assist in completing work orders related to physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings using work order software systems.
- Support routine physical improvements to the property.
- Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Assist the Supervisor in maintaining equipment, tools, supplies, stock inventories, and logs.
- Communicate building status and changes effectively to appropriate individuals.
- Adhere to all safety standards, policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and industry best practices.
- Act professionally and courteously at all times with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, and patients.
- Use materials, supplies, tools, and building property safely and efficiently.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Customer service experience preferred
- Must be located in Libertyville, IL area
- Must be in office (onsite) 5 days a week
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs, and perform extensive walking
- Basic computer skills and comfort using maintenance or work order software
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

The estimated base salary range for this position is $45,000 – $56,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
