Azure DevOps Engineer

Role: Azure Dev Ops Engineer

Location: Libertyville, IL (Hybrid)

Duration: Contract to Hire after 6 months

Seeking a highly skilled Azure Dev Ops Engineer to support cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, security controls, and compliance frameworks in a regulated healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Azure cloud, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, Dev Sec Ops , and GxP-compliant environments, with a mindset focused on automation, governance, and operational excellence.

• Reduce deployment cycle time
• Increase release reliability
• Strengthen Dev Sec Ops  posture
• Improve cloud cost optimization
• Ensure audit-ready Dev Ops processes in a regulated medical device environment

• Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops
• Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes
• Implement branching strategies and Dev Ops best practices
• Enable blue/green and canary deployment models

• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform (preferred)
• Use ARM templates / Bicep
• Implement automated provisioning of Azure environments
• Maintain environment consistency across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production

• Manage and optimize workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Azure App Services
• Azure Container Registry
• Implement container orchestration and lifecycle management
• Optimize cloud performance and cost (Fin Ops awareness preferred)

• Integrate security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, container scanning)
• Implement Dev Sec Ops  practices across pipelines
• Support GxP
• FDA 21 CFR Part 11
• ISO 13485 (preferred)
• Enable audit logging, traceability, and change control processes
• Work with security and compliance teams to embed governance into Dev Ops workflows

• Implement monitoring using Azure Monitor
• Application Insights
• Log Analytics
• Set up alerting and automated remediation workflows
• Improve reliability and uptime through observability best practices

• Work closely with Cloud Architecture teams
• Security teams
• Application Development teams
• Digital Twin / AI modernization initiatives
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and Dev Ops transformation initiatives

• 5+ years of experience in Dev Ops engineering
• 3+ years hands‑on experience with Azure Dev Ops

• Azure Cloud (IaaS, PaaS)
• AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
• Terraform or equivalent IaC tools
• Git branching strategies
• Experience implementing Dev Sec Ops  pipelines
• Strong scripting skills (Power Shell, Bash, Python)
• Experience working in regulated environments (Healthcare, Pharma, Medical Devices preferred)

• Experience supporting GxP environments
• Experience in medical device or life sciences domain

• Fin Ops practices
• AI/ML pipeline automation
• Kubernetes security hardening
• Azure certifications (AZ-400 preferred)
