To provide leadership, vision, and continuity in the use and implementation of educational technology throughout the district in support of educational goals.
Minimum Qualifications- Advanced degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in an educational setting, with classroom teaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software as business tools, including a detailed understanding of the components of computers, servers, copiers, and other peripheral hardware
- Comprehensive understanding of computer networks and their components
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and lead technology initiatives
- Experience in supervising and evaluating employees
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

- Assist with all state and federal grant projects related to technology
- Provides leadership for the implementation of technology into current district curriculum; leads remote learning projects
- Coordinates district and school technology personnel in support of educational objectives
- Communicates district achievement in the use of educational technology to the community
- Develops and coordinates opportunities for staff development in the use of educational technology
- Coordinates the investigation, purchase, deployment, and reliability monitoring of technology district-wide
- Coordinates the selection, hiring, and contribution of contracted companies in the support of district technology.
- Coordinates online assessment tools, their purchase, application, and utilization.
- Coordinates district-wide inventories for both hardware and software resources.
- Communicates on a frequent basis with both the building technology team and principals to coordinate the Technology Support Staff and provide training when necessary
- Evaluate client and server software requirements and perform upgrades in cooperation with the Building Technology Support Staff
- Implements the configuration of network components
- Evaluate the performance of building networks
- Maintains the appropriate level of security for the Building and District Networks
- Visits school buildings on a scheduled basis to perform all efforts and development of programs
- Participates in all required district-level meetings and committees as appropriate.
- Supports:
Registration process, Building secretary training, Power School, Info snap, logistic support for Parent Teacher Conferences - Troubleshoot problems beyond the skills and abilities of the Building performance responsibilities.
- Keep the Superintendent informed of issues and programs related to technology, and attend Board of Education meetings.
- Promote a "customer-first" mentality at all levels of the IT organization.
- Facilitate regular department meetings to ensure collaboration and shared problem-solving.
- Develop, maintain, and manage the Technology budget.
- Coordinate closely with the Business and Human Resource Departments to assist in the deployment of appropriate technologies.
- Collaborate with all members of the District's Administrative Counsel to support and promote district-wide initiatives and the implementation of the strategic plan.
- Assure compliance with licensing requirements, State and Federal programs and/or mandates, and technology best practices.
- Review legislation to determine the impact on the operation of the District and make recommendations regarding implementation of passed legislation.
- Serves as a member of the Administrative Team
- Assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
- Contribute to the technology planning and implementation process for long-range planning.
- Assist with the integration of technology into the educational program.
- Assist with the professional development programs for all staff, as related to technology.
- Coordinate collaboration with other agencies, organizations, institutions, and businesses to promote partnerships for technology and learning.
- Represent the school district in professional and community networking and promotion of technology initiatives.
- Plan for the technology infrastructure necessary to support and maintain programs.
- Assist with the evaluation of program effectiveness as required by grant programs and for continuous improvement.
