Role:

A. REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED
- Current First Aid and CPR certification from an approved provider
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant medical experience (e.g., health assistant, medical assistant, personal care technician, hospital or clinic support staff, physician s office, or equivalent healthcare setting)
- Experience supporting individuals with physical, medical, or health-related needs
- Working knowledge of basic computer applications (word processing, data entry, email, and spreadsheets)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with student health and privacy requirements
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the District
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Previous experience working in a school setting with children or adolescents
- Knowledge of child development and school health protocols
- Bilingual skills
- Knowledge of basic body mechanics and human physiology
- Provide routine health services and first aid to students in the building
- Administer medications and medical care as authorized and in accordance with district policies, student health plans, and applicable regulations
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Monitor students with medical needs and communicate concerns to the appropriate staff
- Follow established protocols and defer care to the Certified School Nurse, Building Administrator, or Assistant Superintendent of Student Services when situations arise beyond the assigned scope of responsibility
- Support the overall operation of the health office
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
As per the school calendar, as required by the State Board of Education and approved by the School Board. This will be a 7.5-hour per day position, which does not include a ½ hour lunch.
Salary/BenefitsCompensation is an hourly rate based on qualifications, education, licensure, and experience as established by the Board of Education salary matrix. Benefits offered by the District may include health, dental, and vision insurance; participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), paid time off, sick leave, and other benefits in accordance with District policies and eligibility requirements.
