Estimator – Utility / Infrastructure Projects
Employment Type:
Full-Time
Compensation:$90,000 – $140,000 + bonus + full benefits
About the OpportunityEngtal is partnered with a national infrastructure contractor focused on energy and transportation projects to hire an Estimator supporting major utility and electrical infrastructure work.
This role is ideal for someone with experience estimating substations, transmission & distribution systems, or medium-voltage electrical projects who wants exposure to large design-build EPC projects across the U.S.
You’ll work closely with preconstruction leadership to develop competitive bids, coordinate takeoffs, and support project pursuits across a strong national backlog.
Key Responsibilities- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
- Support estimating for substation, transmission, distribution, and electrical infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams on bid strategy
- Develop cost models and ROM estimates for design-build projects
- Manage bid schedules and estimating resources
- Support proposal development and internal bid reviews
- 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, utilities, or electrical infrastructure
- Experience with substation, transmission & distribution, or medium-voltage projects strongly preferred
- Background with EPC contractors, utilities, or electrical contractors ideal
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience pricing large design-build infrastructure projects
- PE license or estimating certifications
- Utility client experience (Com Ed, Ameren, etc.)
- Work on major national infrastructure projects
- Strong pipeline of utility work
- Collaborative estimating team environment
- Clear path to Senior Estimator / Lead Estimator
