- Self-Contained General Education Endorsement
- Library Information Specialist Endorsement or a Reading Specialist Endorsement is preferred (willingness to obtain the Library Information Specialist Endorsement is required if not currently held)
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in Library Science, Technology, Reading, or a related field is preferred - Knowledge of early literacy development, instructional technology, and STREAM pedagogy
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
The K–2 STREAM Teacher provides instruction and enrichment in science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and mathematics through the school library and instructional technology program. This role supports early literacy, inquiry-based learning, creativity, and developmentally appropriate technology use while collaborating with classroom teachers to enhance curriculum and student learning. Candidates holding a Library Information Specialist Endorsement will also serve as the K-8 District Librarian, overseeing district-wide library initiatives and receiving the designated stipend.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Design and deliver STREAM-based instruction aligned to K–2 standards and developmental needs
- Provide instruction in foundational research skills, computational thinking, digital citizenship, and responsible technology use
- Manage and maintain the K–2 library collection to support literacy, inquiry, and interdisciplinary learning
- Integrate instructional technology and hands‑on learning tools into STREAM lessons
- Foster a love of reading through read‑alouds, literacy initiatives, and student engagement experiences
- Collaborate with specials teachers and general education teachers to support curriculum through interdisciplinary STREAM experiences
- Maintain library systems, digital platforms, and instructional technology materials
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for young learners
