- Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned workday.
- Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
- Shares in the sponsorship of student activities such as mathematics teams, and participates in faculty committees.
- Adapts the curriculum to provide individual, small-group, or remedial instruction to meet the needs of the individual pupil.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Middle School Math endorsement.
- Experience preferred.
School District 103 is seeking to fill a leave of absence position for 6th grade Pre-Algebra/Algebra Math teacher. Assignment duration will be April 30, 2026 - June 2, 2026 (or last day of attendance for students). Additional transition days will be arranged between the principal, teacher, and candidate.
Job SummaryTo help each pupil develop competence in basic mathematical skills and an understanding of the structure of mathematics; to motivate each pupil to apply mathematical understanding and skills in the solution of practical problems; and to encourage pupils to develop their special talents in the field of mathematics.
