Primary FunctionIndividual is responsible for leading instruction, developing and implementing instructional programs, collaborating with staff and administrators, and communicating with parents, while supervising students in accordance with district and board policies.
Qualifications- Licensure: Current valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Science 9-12 endorsement and Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related field.
- Experience: Required – Two (2) years of successful teaching experience with a diverse population. Preferred – Four (4) years of prior successful teaching experience in an urban school setting.
- Planning and Preparation: Demonstrate knowledge of content, pedagogy, students, and resources; design coherent instruction; select appropriate instructional activities; assess student learning.
- Classroom Environment: Create an environment of respect and rapport; establish a culture for learning; manage classroom procedures and student behavior; organize physical space.
- Instruction: Communicate clearly and accurately; use questioning and discussion techniques; engage students; provide feedback; demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness.
- Professional Responsibility: Reflect on teaching; maintain accurate records; communicate professionally; contribute to school and district; grow and develop professionally.
- Knowledge of Subject Matter: Consistent with state certification requirements; awareness of contemporary teaching principles and practices; competence in classroom and behavior management techniques.
- Instructional Adaptation: Modify instruction to meet student needs; collaborate with faculty and administration on program design and implementation; work effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and community representatives; understand student patterns.
- Teaching Practices: Apply contemporary teaching principles; possess strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; exercise sound and professional judgment.
- Technical:
- Proficient computer skills including Google Apps, Excel, Microsoft Office
- Proficient in IEP software processes and procedures

Salary Range$45,946 - $86,654, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, life insurance).
