JOB OVERVIEW

Provide differentiated instruction with a variety of assessments in an environment conducive to learning.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position requires an LBS1 Endorsement.
  • A completed and submitted online application, résumé, and letters of recommendation as required on the online application.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Applicants must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License or another license as required.
  • Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first; recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will also be considered.
  • The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and learning standards.
  • Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
  • Utilize instructional management systems that maximize student learning.
  • Differentiate instruction and monitor student progress toward achieving instructional objectives and goals.
  • Plan and supervise assignments for assistants and volunteers.
  • Promote and maintain positive pupil‑teacher‑parent relationships.
  • Meet professional responsibilities as outlined in the Staff Handbook.
  • Continue to seek professional development opportunities as required by the State for license renewal.
  • Maintain professional work habits.
  • Communicate effectively within the educational community.
  • Maintain your Professional Educator License as required by law.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO PUPIL SERVICES
  • Serve as a specialist to the education team and as a member of the Pupil Services team.
  • Plan and supervise assignments for Program Assistants working with all students.
  • Prepare an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students at least annually.
  • Maintain accurate documentation adhering to the dates and timelines set forth by Federal and State governments, and Community Consolidated School District 46.
  • Collect continual data reflecting growth tied to the students’ needs for support and/or the IEP goal.
  • Share in school‑related duties as assigned by the building Principal.
