We are seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support a fast-paced metals manufacturing operation. This role serves as the sole HR presence at the plant and is responsible for the full employee lifecycle, partnering closely with plant leadership to drive a safe, compliant, and engaged workforce. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing strategic HR initiatives with day-to-day plant floor support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for all plant employees and leadership
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting and onboarding for hourly and salaried roles
  • Provide employee relations support, including coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions
  • Administer HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook consistently and fairly
  • Support performance management, employee development, and succession planning efforts
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning, attendance, and engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate benefits administration, leave management, and workers’ compensation claims
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Support training initiatives, safety programs, and culture-building efforts across the plant
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Experience serving as a standalone HR professional strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, plant-based environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with both hourly production employees and leadership teams
