Senior Staff Accountant

A well‑established public accounting firm in the Spokane-Liberty Lake area is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its growing team. This role requires:

✅ Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish

✅ Hands-on experience supporting construction clients (job costing, WIP, progress billing, etc.)

Candidates with additional manufacturing accounting experience are also welcome to apply.

We are looking for a detail‑oriented professional who is confident in client-facing work and excels in delivering high‑quality service to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and review financial statements for small to mid‑sized business clients.

+ Perform full‑cycle accounting: reconciliations, journal entries, A/P, A/R, month-end close, and general ledger management.

+ Provide specialized support to construction clients, including job costing, WIP reporting, retention, and progress billing.

+ Assist with tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.

+ Communicate clearly with Spanish‑speaking clients to explain accounting concepts and support their ongoing needs.

+ Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to clients and internal leadership.

+ Collaborate with senior leadership on client engagements and workflow improvements.

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and firm procedures.

+ SALARY RANGE: $65,000-$90,000

Requirements

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) - required for daily client communication.

+ Construction industry accounting experience - required.

+ 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.

+ Strong understanding of GAAP.

+ Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

+ Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a public accounting environment.

Preferred Skills

+

Experience with job costing, retention, progress billing, and WIP reporting.

+ Prior public accounting firm experience.

+ Strong communication and customer service skills.

+ Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.
