Position Summary: The Middle School Woodworking Technology Teacher provides hands-on instruction, introducing students to industrial skills, engineering concepts, and safe tool use. The teacher maintains a structured, safety-focused shop environment while promoting creativity, problem-solving, and responsible work habits.
Responsibilities:
- Teach standards-aligned industrial technology courses, including woodworking, basic construction, measurement, design, and tool use
- Introduce basic welding concepts, emphasizing safety procedures and equipment identification
- Design engaging, project-based learning experiences
- Teach, model, and consistently enforce shop safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
- Assess student learning and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching license with appropriate endorsement (Industrial Technology, Technology Education, CTE, or related area)
- Knowledge of shop tools, equipment, and safety practices
- Ability to manage a hands-on classroom with a strong emphasis on safety
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $51,788 to $85,927 Per Year
