Job Summary
A full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) opportunity is available within a General Surgery specialty practice. This role includes assisting two surgeons and managing an independent clinic. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The provider will deliver comprehensive surgical patient care, support perioperative management, and collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare team members.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist surgeons in clinical and perioperative patient care
Conduct independent clinic visits, including patient assessments and follow-ups
Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies
Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care and education
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical record systems
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Experience:
None required
Licensure/Certification:
Current Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP) or Physician Assistant license
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (if applicable to NP)
DEA license
AHA BLS-HCP certification required
Advanced Life Support certification preferred
Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations
Other Requirements:
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare providers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
