Position Overview

We are adding a Tool Crib Technician for all indirect material and service for our Lexington facility. In this key role you will be responsible for procuring and managing all components, supplies, equipment, and services that meet the operation's requirements for quality, delivery, price, terms, lead times, and inventory levels. In this role you will also work closely with EHS and Quality meeting all the demands for inspection and calibration.

Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am

What your day-to-day will look like
  • Maintains tool crib operation, distributes tools as needed, repairs tools and equipment, prepares returns for vendors, identifies order point, and places purchase requisitions.
  • Resolves procurement issues, i.e. invoice and receipt discrepancies, expediting orders.
  • Determines most economical lot size (min/max) and supplier lead times for purchasing indirect materials.
  • Conducts quoting activities to ensure best total cost for assigned commodities.
  • Supports inventory management programs with supply base that includes vendor stocking, consignment, vendor-managed inventory, etc.
  • Partners with the Operation Services team by identifying at risk materials to prevent shortages on the shop floor resulting in extended equipment down time.
  • Maintains data integrity of SAP and CMMS system including Item Master attributes and purchasing activities.
  • Creates and manages all blankets and supports contract administration for standard products.
  • Manages all inspections for rigging, ladders, harnesses, and other required equipment
  • Performs calibration on all inhouse tools and maintains all records.
  • Manages the calibration process ensuring all tools facility wide do not go out of compliance.
  • Duties may consist of, but not limited to, cycle counting of indirect material, conducting equipment maintenance, and any other special project or assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years’ experience in purchasing for production and inventory control preferred
  • Proficiency in SAP preferred
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, mainly Excel.
  • Self Motivated/Self Starter

  • Standing, climbing, crouching, sitting for extended periods of time.
