As a Technician, you’ll ensure that vehicles are safe and reliable, performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs across multiple OEMs while gaining industry‑certified training and hands‑on coaching.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
- Use Penske’s tools to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
- Perform preventive maintenance (e.g., tire rotation, lubrication, electrical and cooling system repairs) on gas and diesel engines
- Learn new skills via Penske’s training and coaching
- Assist with additional projects and tasks assigned by supervisors

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Problem‑solving skills and comfort using tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Teamwork ability; can work independently as well
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to follow instructions and comply with Penske regulations, DOT, OSHA, and safety policies
- Full‑time attendance required
- Driver qualification compliance (DOT physical, MVR checks, safety history, etc.) and, if applicable, CDL rules and FMCSA clear‑share reviews
- Willingness to work required schedule and location, complete background screening, drug screen, and physical exam
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, sit for extended periods
- Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle tools and controls
- Work safely at heights on ladders and elevated platforms
- Work in all weather conditions and navigate a busy truckyard
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg); occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
