- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related area of discipline with previous student teaching experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Valid SC Teaching License (any applicable area). Must have current government issued identification.
Terms Of Employment8 Hours/190 Days. Certified Salary Schedule. The terms of employment detailed in this job description are based on full time employment during the school year. Conditions of employment adjusted for part time employees or individuals who are hired for less than an entire school year.
General SummaryUnder general supervision, instructs students in academic and social skills in such a way that the individual student's needs, interests, and abilities are met. Assists in other school programs as assigned.

- Interacts, communicates and collaborates with all stakeholders effectively.
- Establishes a safe, supportive, positive and productive working and learning environment.
- Operates general office and technology equipment needed for daily activities.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all employee and student information.
- Participates in all professional meetings and training sessions as required.
- Requests and maintains materials needed for daily responsibilities and essential functions; provides for safe storage and proper use of all tools, equipment and materials.
- Supervises student activities on the playground, in the lunchroom, in arrival and dismissal locations and other areas as assigned; maintains positive behavior support and classroom management systems.
- Demonstrates a variety of 21st Century teaching skills to foster independent, creative, critical thinkers and problem solvers.
- Designs and facilitates engaging, high level, sophisticated learning experiences and applications.
- Teaches math, science, and health in the target language.
- As needed, translates curriculum materials into the target language.
- As needed, creates supplemental materials to enrich the curriculum in the target language.
- Demonstrates superior proficiency in reading, written and oral communication in the target language in order to organize, plan and implement the language, math, science, and health curriculum.
- Teaches age appropriate cultural practices, products and perspectives of the target language by integrating through daily practices and activities in the classroom.
- Provides, directs and evaluates learning experiences of students in both curricular and extracurricular activities in the target language.
- Teaches concepts and skills based on state standards that facilitate learning and contribute to students' academic and personal development.
- Demonstrates and evaluates the effectiveness of both formative and summative assessments; collaborates with other staff members to analyze assessment data in relation to student learning and develops instructional strategies to close the learning and performance gap; evaluates contributions in group projects.
- Prepares various records and forms such as lesson plans, daily and weekly activity plans, assessments, material requisitions, discipline reports, etc.
- As needed, conducts immersion program information sessions to all stakeholders.
- Organizes classrooms and other settings for daily instruction.
- Effectively uses personal computing devices and software applications for the management of student records, instructional efficiency, and professional development.
- Meets with parents, administrators and school counselors as needed to discuss student performance, social and emotional needs, behavior, and personal and academic goals and expectations, etc.; issues reports in accordance with school board policy to inform parents/guardians of students' progress; suggests interventions as appropriate.
- Meets with the district immersion team throughout the year to set goals, plan, and evaluate the Immersion programs.
- If applicable, supervises activities of assigned instructional assistants that involve such duties as planning and reviewing work and providing instruction, guidance and training.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Responsible for supervision of students in classroom, field study and other instructional settings. Responsible for classroom materials and supplies budget (if applicable). Responsible for maintenance and inventory of equipment; responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions and safety issues.
