Maintenance Janitor

Overview

Brookhaven at Lexington is seeking a Maintenance Janitor to play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position supports the daily operation of the community by performing routine maintenance, grounds care, waste removal, and event support while ensuring all facilities and exterior areas meet high standards of safety, cleanliness, and appearance.

This position works collaboratively with the Maintenance team to deliver responsive, high-quality service that meets and exceeds resident and staff expectations.

Schedule:

Full Time;
Monday - Friday - 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Note:

Position requires availability for snow or emergency call-ins. Occasional scheduled overtime on weekends may be needed. Pay Range: $22 - $25 Hourly.

• Collect, sort, and properly dispose of trash and recycling materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain community grounds by removing litter and debris to ensure a clean and attractive environment.
• Assist the Grounds Supervisor with landscaping and seasonal grounds maintenance as needed.
• Deliver packages and materials throughout the building in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to resident and staff lockout calls in accordance with established protocols.
• Support resident move-ins and move-outs by removing and disposing of trash and recycling materials.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders promptly and in accordance with departmental standards.
• Assist with general maintenance activities, including snow and ice removal and other seasonal tasks.
• Maintain the physical plant and exterior grounds in a clean, neat, and safe condition for residents, employees, and visitors.
• Provide support for community events, including traffic coordination, room setup, and security assistance as assigned.
• Escort Housekeeping staff during trash removal when carts are unavailable to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Experience in a maintenance or customer service role, preferably in an elder care setting.
• Must have valid Massachusetts Driver's License and good driving record.
• Knowledge of general janitorial and maintenance activities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, staff and visitors.
• Ability to work extended or additional hours during inclement weather events, including snow and ice conditions, to support community safety and operations.
