Long Term Substitute: English Language Arts

Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute English Language Arts Teacher for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year. Major Responsibilities:

* Implement English/Language Arts lessons and Project-Based Learning activities from curriculum specifically designed to coincide with the Massachusetts State Frameworks and Common Core State Standards.

* Manage classroom affairs, adjust to various audiences and learning preferences, and promote a growth mindset.

* Apply relevant technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

* Attend staff, team, and IEP meetings and contribute to committees as required.

* Function as a member and work collaboratively with Minuteman educators and staff in order to integrate challenging technical concepts into a dynamic curriculum.

* Contribute to the design and implementation of curriculum and lessons that integrate ELA concepts with Career and Technical (CTE) disciplines.

* Assist the administration in implementing District goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the District.

* Maintain a professional demeanor.

* Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the building Principal or their designee.

Qualifications:

* Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in English Grades 9-12 preferred.

* Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

* Strong classroom management and communication skills.

* Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Additional Requirements:

* This position includes but is not limited to: walking around the school, observing students while they work in their program areas, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.

Terms of Employment:

* Full-Time, School Calendar.

* Eligible for health, dental, and retirement benefits.

* Immediately - last day of school.

Compensation:

* The salary for this position is $66,494 prorated to date of hire.
