Position: FY 2027: Academic Lead Teacher - Math - Stipend Position
Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Academic Lead Teacher - Math for the  school year. The Academic Lead Teacher - Math oversees all math Instructors. This position supports the successful delivery of curriculum and instructional services for the respective academic discipline through effective leadership, coordination and innovation. Foster a workplace culture of professionalism and continuous improvement. Oversee the academic department to ensure effective day-to-day operations.

Act as liaison between the Principal and department members. Collaborates with all academic department classroom teachers and paraprofessionals. This is a stipend position, with responsibilities and compensation detailed below. Major Responsibilities:

* Publish a calendar and agendas and conduct regularly scheduled department meetings in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Submit appropriate documentation of attendance, meeting notes, and reflections.

* Implement information pertinent to reports including the most recent EQA, CPR, NEASC, and related assessments and findings in the area of curriculum.

* Support the process of vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment to Common Core State Standards, MA Frameworks, and through curriculum mapping and other documentation.

* Participate in the design and oversee the implementation and review of effective formative and summative student assessment practices.

* Participate actively as a member of the Lead Team and attend meetings after school and occasional evenings as called by administration.

* Use data (including, but not limited to, results from MCAS, MAT, IEP, Lexile Levels, Departmental Formative and Summative Assessments) to inform decisions about curriculum delivery, instructional strategies, and professional development plans as directed.

* Prepare annual reports as directed on student achievement and curriculum delivery (For example:
What are the strengths of students' performance and classroom practice as shown through MCAS? What areas need to be addressed and how will this occur? What is revealed through an analysis of departmental formative and summative assessments?)

* Manage department budgets in accord with district business office procedures.

* Develop budgets in accord with timelines and process as outlined by the Superintendent.

* Participate in the screening, interviewing and recommendation of prospective teaching candidates.

* Attend pertinent and approved conferences and workshops as approved by administration.

* Oversee the effective use of substitute teachers within the department.

* Maintain positive and cooperative relations with other departments: academic, trade-technical, and support.

* Assist teachers with the implementation of the Educator Evaluation System.

* Assist teachers with attendance, and grade books.

* Attend all open houses.

* Participation in Mentoring Program as needed.

* Support communication efforts of District.

* Other duties as assigned by Administration.

Qualifications:

* Educator Licensure as approved by the State of Massachusetts.

* Master's degree preferred.

* Training in or willing to be trained in the development of professional learning communities (PLC).

* Minimum three years' teaching experience.

* Strong content-area knowledge and experience as demonstrated through effective classroom teaching, curriculum development, and application of state frameworks.

* Strong interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills.

* Strong leadership and organizational skills.

* Alternatives to the above as may be approved by the Superintendent.

Additional Requirements:

* This position includes but is not limited to: interacting with the public, walking around the school, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.

Terms of Employment:

* Stipend Position.

Effective Dates of Employment:

* This is a stipend position for the  school year.

* The person who fills this position will be the contact for any relevant and important information prior to the start of the school year.

Supervisor:

* Principal.

Compensation:

* The total stipend for this position is $7,791 for the entire assignment.
