Position: FY 2027: Academic Lead Teacher - Guidance - Stipend Position
Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Academic Lead Teacher - Guidance for the  school year. This position fostera a workplace culture of professionalism and continuous improvement. Oversee the Guidance Department to ensure effective day-to-day operations. Act as liaison between Administration and department members. Collaborate with All Academic Department classroom teachers, vocational teachers, and paraprofessionals. This is a stipend position, with responsibilities and compensation detailed below.

Major Responsibilities:

* In alignment with the developing Academy Model plans, coordinates and maintains effective guidance and counseling programs including a comprehensive developmental guidance curriculum in collaboration with guidance staff.

* Oversees basic operations of the department, including but not limited to, 504 plans, EPP (educational proficiency plans) forms, attendance letters, quarterly report card letters, and transcripts.

* Provides guidance and intentionality to the guidance staff to support the development of an Academy Model School.

* Acts as the districts 504 Coordinator.

* Plans, conducts, and documents in-service training program and professional development activities for guidance staff.

* Facilitates and chairs all department meetings. Attends monthly department lead meetings.

* Provides a communication link between the guidance staff and the administrative team.

* Ensures counselors develop an on-going four-year career plan, which includes post-secondary goals through Naviance software.

* Maintains and updates pupil cumulative records to ensure that approved information is kept current and is readily available.

* Implements department policies and procedures.

* Participates in school events, including but not limited to tour days, Freshmen Orientation, Senior and Junior Parent Breakfasts, Financial Aid Night, Senior Awards Night and Graduation.

* Creates the annual master schedule with input from scheduling committee.

* Supports budget development and tracks departmental spending.

* Shares MCAS scores with counselors and supports them to meet with students who did not pass to explain the options (retesting dates, MCAS prep classes, extra help prior to retesting.) Create an MCAS Appeals Cohort Spreadsheet with relevant data.

* Facilitates proper notification of Adams Scholarship (Students who qualify for the scholarship will receive award letters and further information in the fall of their senior year) and Koplik Scholarship and letters.

* Coordinate Post-Secondary Financial Aid Parent Meeting(s).

* Coordinate Program of Studies and updates/changes.

* Coordination of Junior Book Awards.

* Will support communication efforts of District.

* Other duties as assigned by Administration.

Qualifications:

* Self-motivated; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

* Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, through email and on the telephone.

* Ability to coordinate school-wide events.

Additional Requirements:

* This position includes but is not limited to: interacting with the public, walking around the school, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.

Terms of Employment:

* Stipend Position.

Effective Dates of Employment:

* This is a stipend position for the  school year (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027).

Supervisor:

* Assistant Superintendent.

Compensation:

* The total stipend for this position is $7,791 for the entire assignment.
