Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Lexington, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in managing and processing invoices, ensuring accurate account coding, and maintaining efficient payment operations. This role demands a high degree of precision and expertise in accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities:

- Review, verify, and process invoices while ensuring proper account coding and compliance with company policies.

- Handle payments through Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check runs to ensure timely disbursement.

- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and reconcile discrepancies.

- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address and resolve payment issues promptly.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all payable activities.

- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing necessary accounts payable documentation.

- Monitor and update the accounts payable ledger to reflect accurate financial data.

- Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency of payable operations.

- Prepare reports and summaries related to accounts payable for management review.

- Respond to inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account discrepancies with professionalism. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

- Strong knowledge of account coding and invoice processing.

- Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and check runs.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with vendors and internal teams.

- Understanding of accounting principles and compliance regulations.
