Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nebhew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. The Field Logistics Specialist provides logistical support to the Sales Reps and delivers excellent customer service to hospital staff.

What will you be doing?
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize upcoming surgery procedures needed from the district office, assigning local pickups and deliveries with respect to time‑sensitivity.
  • Ensure necessary paperwork is processed for all shipments.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of company products and new product introductions to deliver and pick up instruments accurately.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with Office Staff, Sales Representatives, and third‑party end‑users, including Hospital Receiving, Central Processing, and Operating Room Staff.
  • Dress in a professional manner as a representative of the company, wearing logoed apparel as directed.
  • Assist in Office, Sales, and OSC duties as required when not directly engaged in courier responsibilities.
  • Work with District OSC staff and Inventory Specialist to decide best local delivery options based on time, cost, and vehicle availability for time‑sensitive shipments.
  • Route shipments via the most appropriate method and confirm updated delivery status.
  • Carry cellular phone at all times for effective communication regarding pickups and deliveries; overtime and call are required for emergency and changing surgical schedules.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of college with operations, customer service, or distribution classes desired; in lieu of college, a combination of education and experience totaling four years is required. 4‑year bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with logistics coordination, inventory management, or field operations.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to travel locally and handle time‑sensitive shipments.
