Maintains two training tracks at the Thoroughbred Center by performing the following duties personally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Waters training tracks at various times during the day or night using water truck or tractor and water wagon.
- Works the training tracks at various times during the day and night to prevent freezing in the winter months.
- Grooms the training tracks to be ready for open by 6 am each morning.
- Conducts basic maintenance on tractors and other equipment as needed.
- Operates various track equipment to maintain the tracks such as tractors, roller, floats, conditioner, etc
- Recognizes drainage problems and makes sure excess water is removed from the track.
- Cleans track drains as necessary.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to obtain Kentucky State Racing Commission license
