Position: General Maintenance Worker (Waste Management)
SALARY

The minimum salary is $21.168 per hour

This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.

Pay Grade 515

This position is eligible to receive hazardous duty supplemental pay at $90/month ($0.52 per hour) upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to support the upkeep and functionality of municipal buildings, grounds, and infrastructure as well as assisting certified or licensed workers with their tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

* Two (2) years of related experience

* Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, and HVAC support under general supervision

* Assists certified or licensed workers with their tasks and collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure timely completion

* Respond to service requests and perform corrective maintenance to resolve facility and infrastructure issues

* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, materials used, and work orders

* Operate and maintain hand and power tools, groundskeeping equipment, and maintenance vehicles safely and efficiently

* Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Position number 4554 is required to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B within the first six (6) months of employment
