Position Summary:

As the concessions cashier at Keeneland Hospitality, you are responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling food and beverage transactions using the point-of-sale system at concession stands during race meets and special events. This position plays a key role in delivering high quality guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests courteously and provide friendly, professional service.
Accurately process cash, credit, and mobile payments using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Handle food and beverage orders quickly, accurately and efficiently.
Maintain quality and production standards for all menu items ensuring that food and beverage is stored properly and fresh before serving to guests.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked concession stand area.
Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and service areas, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
Count and reconcile cash drawers before and after each shift.
Communicate effectively with guests, team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Assist with setup and breakdown of concession area including job duties assigned by supervisor.
Adhere to Keeneland hospitality approved uniform and dress code standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years of age (18+ for roles involving alcohol service).
Prior cashier or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
Basic math skills in relation to cash handling, credit transactions and product inventory.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with team members, volunteers, management and guests in a clear, professional, and respectful manner.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Ability to speak, read and write in English.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Reliable transportation and punctuality are a must.
Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during race meets and events.

Licensing Requirements:

A valid Fayette County Food Handler's License is required for all food and beverage staff. Must be obtained prior to the first scheduled shift. A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers. This license will be provided to you on behalf of Keeneland upon hire.
