Job SummarySUMMER WORK – SMALL GRAINS BREEDING AND GENETICS.
Work opportunities for undergraduates who are interested in plant breeding & genetics are available in the Brzozowski Lab! The lab works on plant breeding and genetics for sustainable production of small grains in Kentucky, using wheat, oats, rye, and intermediate wheatgrass. The position is full‑time hourly work during Summer 2026 (approx. May 13 – Aug 12). Come learn all about plant breeding in Kentucky and get paid to do it!
Responsibilities- Field data collection
- Harvesting plants
- Preparing and analyzing seeds for future studies
- Occasional greenhouse work or sample preparation for laboratory analysis
No experience required. The work requires outdoor agricultural tasks in all weather conditions. Students must provide their own transportation to the research farm in Lexington, with limited exceptions. All safety and research trainings will be provided on the job, and wage will align with MG‑CAFE standards.
Preferred Education / ExperienceNo experience required. The same requirements as above.
