Job SummaryThe Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food & Environment, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Kentucky is seeking a Research Analyst to support wildlife-related research activities. The role focuses on the conservation and management of both game and non-game species. About 80% of the position will support the research work of four wildlife faculty, with the remaining time assisting other research projects.
Responsibilities- Organize and support FNR wildlife faculty and graduate students with fieldwork and data collection
- Manage and organize research data
- Prepare and maintain samples for analysis
- Perform statistical and GIS analyses
- Summarize research results
- Facilitate the storage and disposal of samples
- Maintain wildlife collections (both live and preserved specimens)
- Assist with instruction and/or lab setup for field and lab-based wildlife courses
- Prepare and edit manuscripts, grant proposals, presentations, and reports
- Support non-wildlife research activities including lab work, equipment maintenance, and lab safety
Education & Experience: Preferred candidate holds a Master’s degree in Forestry, Biology, or a related field with one or more years of related experience. (

No additional experience is strictly required.)
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), advanced knowledge of R and ArcGIS, and familiarity with GPS and standard wildlife sampling techniques.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods, and sit for moderate durations.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (37.5 hours/week)
