  Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider valid for at least 6 months after employment date
• Physical Requirements:
  
  The essential functions include ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds daily and 25-50 pounds frequently; stand, walk and sit for long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and potential injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
• Shift: Must be able to work three, 12 hour NIGHT shifts (7PM-7:30AM), 36 hours/week. Some weekends and holidays may be required per unit needs/schedule.
• Job Summary:
  
  Registered Nurses in the Chandler 8 Main at UK Chandler Hospital provide care for Adult Medicine Services patients who are moderately stable, with fluctuating patient acuity, with complex needs requiring comprehensive care. Patient care includes frequent assessment of pulmonary, renal, cardiac, vascular and neurological conditions. Responsibilities include providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient-centered care, delivering direct patient care, ensuring patient satisfaction, training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians, adhering to University policies and regulations, and collaborating with the nursing staff and physicians to improve communication and outcomes.
• Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
  Knowledge of Maslow’s Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Framework, and Swanson’s Caring model; strong direct patient care and critical thinking; basic computer navigation; professional communication; strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills; ability to work in a team and independently.
