Physical RequirementsRequires handling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.
ShiftMust be able to work three 12-hour day shifts from 7AM until 7:30PM; also required to work some weekend and holidays.
Job SummaryLicensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in the 3 Medicine Acute care area at UK Chandler Hospital provide care to adult patients with a wide range of medical/surgical conditions. The area offers acute, comprehensive inpatient care for patients suffering from medical diseases and surgical complications, including diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre- and post-operation). The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
Duties include starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patient’s condition.
This environment supports collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and expected patient outcomes.
