- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
- Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience
- Active Kentucky nursing license or a compact state nursing license in good standing
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)® certification valid for at least 6 months after hire date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) certification
- Approved advanced national nursing certification required within 18 months of hire date
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50–100 pounds daily and 25–50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods
- Willingness to work three 12‑hour shifts per week (7 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) and occasional weekends/holidays
In the Critical Core program, nurses apply the nursing process to care for and counsel patients across a broad spectrum, from surgical complications and acute medical conditions to trauma, behavioral health, pain management, and end‑of‑life care. Nurses deliver health teaching, counseling, and restorative support, coordinating and managing all aspects of care in a timely, cost‑effective manner. They collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the interprofessional team to enhance communication and patient outcomes.
