Job Summary & Responsibilities
As a Charge RN, you will oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. You will advocate for your fellow nurses and support them in reaching their full potential, aligning with the department’s operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable, confident, and an excellent communicator in both one‑to‑one interactions and in front of groups.
Comfort in holding tough conversations is important, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
- Provides direct supervision of personnel on Nursing Units, makes patient care assignments, evaluates assignments, facilitates patient care throughout, and directly observes staff performance on their assigned shift.
- Proactively matches existing resources to provide patient care that supports staff and maintains a therapeutic environment.
- Monitors productivity and ensures staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
- Communicates personnel‑related concerns to the Unit Manager.
- Uses a logical, systematic approach to problems and problem‑solving.
- Facilitates Patient Experience best practices on the unit (hourly rounding, etc.).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and 2 years RN experience, upon hire.
- Registered Nurse:
Kentucky license, upon hire. - Basic Life Support – CPR, upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days.
