Provides nursing care according to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing and evaluating. Implements appropriate nursing care interventions. Administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures. Care provided is based on defined standards of patient care and nursing evidence-based practice.

Job Requirements RequiredEducation and Experience
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the State of Kentucky
- Basic Life Support (BLS) via the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) via the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months of hire
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous nursing experience in Telemetry, Cardiac, Emergency or Critical Care service lines
As an ICU Nurse at CHI Saint Joseph Health, you’ll monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life‑threatening disease. You’ll never have the same day twice as your patients’ needs evolve but you'll always begin each shift by taking report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds. You’ll provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan.
To thrive in this role, you’ll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react. You’ll clinically care for your patients—remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift. You also serve as their advocate—supporting their best interests when they cannot. Your sound judgment during an emergency and rapid response are impressive, putting you on the radar for advancement.
