Cath Lab Nurse - 13 Week Full Time Contract Assignment

Location:

Lexington, KY – Baptist Health Lexington. Shift: Day 4x10‑Hour (07:00 - 17:30). Start: ASAP.

Base Pay: $67.00/hr – $67.00/hr.

Job Summary

The cardiac catheterization laboratory nurse specializes in caring for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including permanent and temporary pacemakers and intra‑aortic balloon pumps. The nurse operates specialized equipment, assists during procedures, and provides patient care throughout the intervention. The role reports to the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory manager and is supervised by the physician.

Responsibilities
  • Operate specialized equipment safely and efficiently during diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures.
  • Assist physicians with non‑invasive and invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures (pacemaker insertion, etc.).
  • Provide pre‑procedure, intra‑procedure, and post‑procedure nursing care.
  • Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring, including telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation.
  • Document patient care accurately and completely.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
  • Advocate for patient rights and advance directives.
  • Migrate competency through continuing education and state credential requirements.
Requirements (Qualifications)
  • Graduated from an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Kentucky.
  • At least one year of experience as a cardiac catheterization laboratory nurse in a clinical setting.
  • Advanced CPR certifications (ACLS; NALS may be required for pediatrics).
  • Ability to work in a high‑risk environment with exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
