Registered Nurse:Surgical-Telemetry /Orthopedic-Neuro-Spine unit.

Unit Overview : 3GH,Surgical-Telemetry /Orthopedic-Neuro-Spine unit.| $30,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualifying candidates

3G/H is a 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in but not limited to orthopedic/neuro/spine patients. This unit is accredited by the JC as a Total Joint Center for Orthopedic Excellence. The unit serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients. The patients are transferred in from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices.

Job Description:

  • The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

  • Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
  • Clinical decision-making incorporates all fourphases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines.
  • The Registered Nurse is an exemplarfor compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.
  • As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.
