Required Education
  • ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing)
Preferred Education
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
Required Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of nursing experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NSS) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC)
  • Nursing Professional Advancement (NPA)

All certifications must be current at time of hire and completed within one year of hire.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50–100 pounds occasionally and 25–50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and sharp instruments
Shift & Scheduling
  • Work hours:

    8PM–8:30AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Must work weekends and holidays as needed
Job Summary

Rapid Response duties include standard duties of a Registered Nurse; however, an advanced level of practice as a Critical Care Nurse is required. The RN must provide immediate, rapid care in emergencies including decline in patient condition. The role also includes acting as a resource to other nurses for clinical/critical decision‑making and teaching patients/families about decline and failure to rescue. The RN assists in meeting the goals of the command center.

/ Knowledge / Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills when working with multi‑disciplinary staff
  • Critical care background and ability to act as liaison for staff and families
  • Instructional experience preferred for patient decline and failure‑to‑rescue scenarios
