Construction Project Executive (Lexington, Kentucky)
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
OverviewWe have an outstanding opportunity for a Construction Project Executive with significant distribution or industrial construction experience. This position will be located in Lexington, Kentucky.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the overall management of one large $200MM+ project or multiple complex projects. Key responsibilities include Project Administration, Financial Performance, Schedule Performance, Risk Management, Relationship Management, Team Member Development, and Collaboration.
- Facilitates meetings, ensures minutes and action items are promptly distributed.
- Ensures project action items are systematically tracked and completed.
- Ensures the project staff completes submittal reviews, status reports, closeout documents, and maintenance manuals promptly.
- Visits project sites regularly.
Financial Success
- Monitors progress, identifies issues early, develops corrective actions, and reports to Senior Directors.
- Operates within budgetary limitations and requirements.
Schedule Performance
- Oversees project master schedule conformance.
- Collaborates with Field Operations Managers to assess schedule progress and develop corrective measures.
Risk Management
- Ensures contractual terms are understood and decisions are made.
- Develops risk management plan and monitors progress.
Relationship Management
- Primary customer contact and account manager.
- Develops relationship management plans and coordinates communication.
Team Member Development
- Ensures staff aligns with company values.
- Mentors and trains project managers.
Collaboration
- Maintains a cooperative work environment.
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 7 consecutive years with profit/loss accountability and 5 years managing design/build or hard bid projects in manufacturing, distribution, or advanced technology markets. Proven record in increasing project profitability. Legal knowledge of contracting methods and implications. Experience in stakeholder engagement and schedule development.
Must be able to mentor and train other project staff, develop aggressive schedules, prepare cost estimates, and maintain harmonious relationships with owners, vendors, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
