Position: Senior Project Director (CM)

Overview

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Project Director to join our talented team at our project site near Lexington, KY
.

You will be responsible for the oversight of multiple EPCMV Project Teams day-to-day execution within the Regional Operations of a $50MM project delivery organization. This role will focus on the support of EPCMV and CM services sales, overseeing the detailed execution of projects by teams from initiation to close out, the development of staff, and the operational performance of the division.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the Regional Operations Director in the establishment of goals and development of the execution plan for the Project Delivery team(s).
  • Oversees project estimating and budgeting across all Project Delivery group projects.
  • Supports the Regional Business Unit Leader and/or Regional Operations Director in the business development functions for the Project Delivery group.
  • Provides day-to-day direction of all Project Delivery group operations, including preconstruction, estimating, procurement, project management, construction site management, and construction site safety.
  • Oversees the development of Project Delivery group contracts and subcontracts, aggressively protecting corporate positions.
  • Coordinates and assists the Director of Ops in the day-to-day responsibility for the hiring, training, and development of the Project Delivery group staff.
  • Works with Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to resolve project cost, schedule, and quality non-conformances.
  • Leads the execution of Project Delivery group systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Coordinates and assists the Director of Operations in the group activities to ensure the achievement of budgeted revenue and profits.
  • Trains project assignees on good project management techniques and develops the skills of all assigned personnel.
  • Coordinates with the Regional Operations Director, Regional Business Unit Leaders, and other IPS division leaders to optimize the achievement of overall corporate objectives.
  • Evaluates Project(s) resource requirements and manages Project(s) staff levels to support those requirements.
  • Supports project/client development process with presentations and related marketing activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
  • 20+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrates significant experience both in terms of industry knowledge and positions of seniority and leadership.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.
Work Environment
  • This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
  • You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
  • Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client’s location is possible, depending on the assignment.

  • You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying weather.
Safety
  • This position is a safety-sensitive position.
  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other non-administrative areas.
