Job SummaryThe Apartment Maintenance Technician is a crucial member of our team, responsible for the overall upkeep and curb appeal of our apartment building. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure our property is consistently maintained to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general painting and cleaning, a servant s heart, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities- Painting:
Perform interior and exterior painting duties, including drywall patching, sanding, priming, and applying paint to prepare apartments for new residents and maintain common areas. - Cleaning & Upkeep:
Ensure the cleanliness and professional appearance of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, laundry facilities, and grounds. Assist in cleaning and detailing vacant units to ensure they are move-in ready. - General Maintenance:
Address resident work orders for minor repairs in a timely and courteous manner. - Inspections:
Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify and resolve potential maintenance issues before they become major problems. - Team
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with the Property Manager regarding work order status, necessary supplies, and any resident concerns.
- Proven experience in general painting, including proper preparation and finishing techniques.
- Experience with light cleaning and janitorial tasks.
- A positive attitude and a heart for serving others.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and team members.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform the physical tasks associated with the role.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- HVAC:
Experience with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems. HVAC certification is a major plus. - Plumbing:
Knowledge of basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, clearing drains, and replacing fixtures (faucets, toilets, etc.). - Electrical:
Ability to safely handle minor electrical tasks, such as replacing outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
