This position is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of ready‑mix plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
- Make necessary minor repairs to facilities based on job orders or directions from Plant Maintenance Lead
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools needed to facilitate the completion of assigned task
- Operate cutting torch and gas welding equipment, misc. shop tools, i.e., power drills, power saws, air tools, chipping guns, impact drivers, and other related air tools
- Ability to complete general preventative maintenance scheduled work with little to no supervision
- Assist in the replacement of more complex mechanical systems such as electrical motors, pulley systems and belts.
- Replacement of minor electrical wiring, control panels, and circuit boards
- Maintain a safe workplace by complying with all IMI’s operational policies, procedures, and standards as well as any OSHA / MSHA standards.
- Must have ability to meet tight timelines and work under pressure when needed
- Wear appropriate PPE for tasks being performed.
- Maintain and help maintain a clean work atmosphere inside and outside the ready‑mix facilities
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, 0‑3 years of related experience and/or training at a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Welding experience preferred
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; ability to climb, bend, stoop, and walk.
- Previous maintenance experience required. Class A or B CDL required or the ability to obtain.
