Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant
Whiteford’s Lexington, KY office is seeking a legal administrative assistant with experience supporting litigation attorneys in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who understands litigation workflows, court rules, and the importance of accuracy, responsiveness, and client service.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to litigation attorneys
- Prepare, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
- Manage electronic and hard-copy files in accordance with firm and court requirements
- Coordinate court filings (state and federal), including e‑filing and service of process
- Maintain calendars, docket deadlines, and schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, binders, and logistics
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams
- Track time, assist with billing entries, and support expense processing
- Perform other administrative and litigation support tasks as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of litigation legal administrative assistant experience in a law firm
- Strong working knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and filing requirements
- Experience with e‑filing systems (state and federal)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with legal document management systems preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Professional demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff
