Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team working on grant‑funded projects. The QA Tester will test SQL programs, dashboards, and R scripts to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of data solutions. This role is integral to maintaining the quality of data analytics and visualization products used in public health research and healthcare decision‑making.
Responsibilities- Test SQL programs, dashboards, and R scripts to ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of data solutions.
- Maintain the quality of data analytics and visualization products used in public health research and healthcare decision‑making.
- Contribute to grant‑funded projects, including Rapid Actionable Data for Opioid Response in KY.
- Collaborate with principal investigators, public health stakeholders, and data teams.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard testing.
- Knowledge of R and Python programming languages and relevant testing libraries (e.g., testthat, pytest).
- Familiarity with QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality results.
- 7+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on data analytics or business intelligence solutions.
- Proven experience testing SQL queries, R scripts and RShiny apps.
- Experience in the biomedical or healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, pytest).
- Bonus skills:
Experience working with tracking tools (Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Zentrack, Bugzilla, Git). - Bonus skills:
Experience handling healthcare claims data, CMS data, and HIPAA/PHI data. - Bonus skills:
Storytelling and stakeholder translation (turning technical reports to leadership‑ready summaries). - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science or a related field (preferred).
