Systems Administrator

Location: Hybrid but must be within 100 miles from Lexington, MA. There could be some periodic after hours/off hours work for data migration activities or system upgrades. Position will be onsite 2 days/wk with the remaining days remote. Candidate should be prepared to be onsite 4-5 days/wk for the first few months while they are getting up and running. Once they are trained, the hybrid schedule will start.

Must Have
  • Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years - Application and infrastructure monitoring (system performance, identifying issues, troubleshooting)
  • 5 years - Desktop and Server Support (installation, patching, auditing, configuration, security, AD, etc.)
  • 5 years - Conduct network, system, and application vulnerability scanning/configuration assessment/remediation
  • 5 years - Programming

    Languages:

    Python, Perl, Power Shell
  • 5 years - Experience with and/or managing the PDM and PLM within an engineering environment
  • 5 years - Dev Ops Tooling (Git, Git Hub, Git Lab, Artifactory, Jenkins, Satellite, Quay, Landscape)
  • 5 years - Application level patching experience
  • 5 years - Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities
  • 5 years - Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues
  • 5 years - Enterprise Backup Solutions
  • 5 years - Hands‑on experience with vulnerability remediation across multiple OS's (Linux, Mac and Windows)

Responsibilities PLM Systems Administration & Development Support
  • Administer, build, deploy, maintain, and upgrade multiple Aras Innovator environments (Production, QA, UAT, Development).
  • Perform environment refreshes, which may include, biweekly after‑hours/weekend upgrades, apply patches, and address emergency maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues (e.g., Authoring system connectors), performance problems, and licensing issues.
  • Collaborate with DEC team, Aras Support, partners, and developers for automated testing, data migration, and deployments.
Infrastructure & Dev Ops
  • Provision, configure, and optimize Windows Server VMs in coordination with the Enterprise IT Team.
  • Monitor and resolve performance, patching, and security agent issues (Big Fix, Sentinel One, other tools) with the Enterprise IT Team.
  • Maintain software license servers, record configurations, and ensure reproducibility of environments.
CAD/PDM and Engineering System Support
  • Support Solid Works/PDM add‑ins, license renewals, and upgrade planning.
  • Troubleshoot ODBC driver issues, certificate expirations, and policy‑related interruptions.
Security & Compliance
  • Perform vulnerability remediation in collaboration with Cybersecurity teams.
  • Manage certificate life cycles, alternative control submissions, and system component configuration management and EOL tracking.
  • Install and evaluate security agents and tools across systems, diagnosing complex issues as needed.
Required Skills
  • Strong skills in Windows Server and VMware/ESXi provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server performance factors and configuration.
  • Familiarity with Dev Ops pipelines (Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins) and scripting (Power Shell, C#).
