DescriptionThe Information Systems Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting the analysis, design, planning, implementation, and operation of multiple network systems. This role oversees network personnel, ensures reliable network infrastructure, and provides technical leadership in the installation, testing, and support of network hardware and software. The supervisor also coordinates diagnostic problem resolution and supports system development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with performing analysis of multiple network requirements, including design, planning, implementation, and ongoing operations of networking equipment.
- Determine appropriate hardware, software, and cabling requirements to support organizational needs.
- Supervise and/or perform installation, testing, configuration, and support of network devices, including both hardware and software.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support security camera systems, including cameras, recording devices, network connectivity, and related software.
- Monitor and maintain security camera system performance, ensuring system availability, data integrity, and compliance with security standards.
- Plan, assign, and supervise the daily activities of network personnel.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to programmers and/or analysts in the development and implementation of computer systems.
- Coordinate diagnostic problem resolution with Local Area Network (LAN) support staff to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
- Approve employee time records and complete performance management tasks, including evaluations and feedback.
- Ensure network systems meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
- Maintain documentation related to network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree OR an associate's degree in information technology or related field OR certification in an IT-related field.
- Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Four years of professional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, systems support, or computer operating systems. - Substitute Education for
Experience:
A master's degree in computer science will substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis. - Substitute Experience for
Education:
Two years of additional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, computer operations, business or public administration, statistics, research, or a related field will substitute for the education requirement. - Special Requirements (Age, Licensure, Regulation, etc.): NONE.

Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
