We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part‑Time Optometrist to join our mobile care team in Lexington, KY. This role is ideal for an optometrist looking for consistent, predictable work while making a meaningful impact in senior and underserved communities. CMC manages all equipment, supplies, scheduling, billing, and logistics. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, allowing you to focus on patient care without the administrative demands of a traditional practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive eye exams to geriatric patients in facility-based settings
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease
- Prescribe corrective lenses and coordinate eyewear needs as appropriate
- Educate patients and facility staff on eye health, care, and treatment plans
- Ensure patient comfort and safety in a mobile/facility-based care environment
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited program
- Active Kentucky optometry license
- Experience working with geriatric populations or in mobile care preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varying care environments
1 day per week, weekday availability. Typical hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
