Physical Requirements: This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; working in confined spaces; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and cuts/punctures.

Shift: Day shift, 8am-5pm with some holiday requirements. Hours and days of the week are subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department.

Job Summary: This position will provide clinical and operational support for the dermatology clinic in the management of Specialty Pharmacy service lines. The UK Health Care Specialty Pharmacy is designed to optimize patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes by supporting physicians and clinic-providers during initiation of specialty medications including patient counseling, medication reconciliation, toxicity monitoring, and the creation of drug-specific clinical pathways.

As part of the UK Health Care Specialty Pharmacy team, you will work closely with a group of dedicated pharmacists and technicians providing benefits investigation, financial support, clinical monitoring, education, and dispensing for a variety of sub-specialty services. Additionally, this position will establish safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients.

There is an IEBC being conidered.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; a “team” mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

D and completion of an ASHP
-accredited PGY1 residency program (or equivalent experience) preferred.
