In this pivotal leadership role, the Senior Manager, Health Education Team, leads and mentors a team of Health Education Managers (HEMs) within the Abb Vie Institute of Health Education, cultivating a high-performing and inclusive culture. The incumbent will advance the strategic vision for health education, ensuring full alignment with organizational priorities as well as the evolving learning needs of healthcare professionals (HCPs).
The Senior Manager champions innovative health education plans and journeys, drives organizational and digital transformation, and leverages data‑driven insights. This leader consistently upholds the highest standards of compliance and ethics in all health education activities, ultimately dedicated to advancing standards of care and improving patient outcomes.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of Health Education Managers in the design and execution of strategic learning plans and journeys across various therapeutic areas.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a health education strategic plan for the various therapeutic areas (TA) from their team members.
- Actively engage in collaboration with cross‑functional partners to advance the strategic objectives of the Abb Vie Institute across multiple therapeutic areas, fostering a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and integrating best practices and novel approaches in health education.
- Drive innovation by proactively identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and implementing inventive solutions to elevate educational outcomes.
- Ensure that health education initiatives consistently comply with industry regulations, ethical standards, and Abb Vie policies, while actively overseeing educational standards review activities to maintain compliance and quality.
- Influence, advocate, and effectively communicate the impact of health education initiatives to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and securing support and engagement across all stakeholders.
- Actively participate in committees focused on health education and organizational needs, representing the department and leveraging expertise to promote cross‑functional priorities and foster innovative solutions. Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are seamlessly executed for all Abb Vie Institute health education offerings.
- Leverage data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of health education initiatives, using insights to guide continuous improvement and demonstrate measurable impact.
- Lead the adoption and integration of digital health education technologies and digital solutions to maximize reach, engagement, and impact.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in science or a health‑related field is an asset. An advanced degree is also considered an asset.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or related health education industries.
- Demonstrated success in people management, with experience leading and developing teams.
- Proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams.
- Experience in leading teams through change and driving organizational transformation.
- Proven ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of business and clinical concepts within diverse therapeutic areas.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strategic, analytical thinker with a keen ability to drive innovation in educational approaches.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
