Must sit at a computer workstation for extended periods, perform repetitive typing, intermittently stand or walk with objects weighing up to 10 lb, occasionally stand or walk with objects weighing up to 25 lb, and lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 lb; exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials, loud noises, blood‑borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people
The ED Access Associate acts as a liaison between patient clerical assistants and the management of Emergency Services. The role includes greeting and directing staff, families, and visitors entering the hospital, performing all patient clerical duties, ordering necessary clerical supplies, and assisting with scheduling.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities- Basic administrative skills such as receptionist duties (phone handling, keyboarding, filing, fax machine use)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Interpersonal skills
Two years of college education and experience working in a medical clerical setting are preferred.
