Pharmacy Director Associate/PIC/UKHC – Turfland Retail Pharmacy

Location: Lexington, KY

Work Status: Full‑Time

Grade Level: 15

Salary Range: $100,056–185,848/year

Required

Education:

PharmD

Required Experience: 2 years

License/Registration/Certification: Licensed Pharmacist;
Pharmacist‑in‑Charge licensure required

Physical Requirements: Standing or sitting >5 hrs, walking several miles, manual handling up to 25 lbs. Occasional stooping, kneeling. Ability to reach above shoulder level.

Shift: Primarily days, may include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays.

Job Summary

Seeking qualified Pharmacist to directly manage daily operations and exercise legal binding through Pharmacist‑in‑Charge (PIC) licensure to ensure the unit meets departmental and organizational goals. Participate in routine supervision and training of Pharmacist and technical staff related to daily operations of drug distribution. Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians. Review and interpret prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy and consider drug interactions.

Maintain inventory and records on narcotics and other drug forms. PIC licensure required for legal responsibility of work unit.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Strong clinical and leadership skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

Qualifications

Preferred:
Pharm

D with 5 years of pharmacy experience or Pharm

D with PGY2 in Health System Pharmacy Administration. Master’s degree in business and/or healthcare administration also preferred.
