The Physicist works with the Radiation Oncologist, Dosimetrist, Radiotherapy Technologist and others to assure the accurate delivery of all aspects of a treatment prescription. He/she is directly involved in patient care whereby his/her decisions in the treatment of the patients contribute to optimal safe and effective patient care. Responsible for calibration of machines, office radiation safety, quality assurance of diagnostic and therapy equipment and accessories.

Qualifications RequiredEducation and Experience
The clinical Medical Physicist should have a B.S. degree in physics or equivalent followed by a graduate degree (M.S. or PhD) in medical physics.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and TrainingKnowledge:
An understanding of the equipment, systems, and procedures required to deliver radiation care to our patients, and/or the ability to find that information or resource as needed.
Skills:
The ability to communicate ideas, directions, and solutions clearly, both verbally and electronically, to patients, staff, and physicians as needed.
Abilities:
The ability to analyze complex and complicated problems and situations, and formulate effective and appropriate solutions using the resources available and/or requesting additional resources as needed. Then communicating these solutions clearly and ensuring they are effectively implemented.
